Rory first picked up a guitar in 1986, it was a 'Marlin Sidewinder' electric guitar (a gift from his brother) and from that day he was hooked.
Before long Rory was learning to play guitar riffs from legendary artists past and present. But it was the bass elements of music that came naturally to his ear. He was developing a real love for music and the key role that bass played. From a young age, Rory could hear the drum pulse in music so clearly and now he just wanted to lock that in with this new, exciting bass sound.
Thus he turned his hand to the electric bass guitar.
Three bands, twenty two bass guitars and twenty one years experience later, Rory’s active role in teaching the instrument means he is able to share his valuable knowledge, experience & enthusiasm with all he meets.
Born in Plymouth, Rory grew up on the historic Plymouth Barbican. He is happily married & has a huge cat called 'Turbo' (who loves people by the way!)
Rory is also the Musical Director for Blue Locust Ltd an Advertising Agency and Production Company based in the South West. When he’s not teaching he’s writing their latest masterpiece. Who knows, you may have already heard some of his music on the television.
